Babysham

Baby was born at Wellgrove. Her dam was a flea-bitten mare called Poppett and her sire was another flea-bitten called Orinoco. We also owned her grandfather “The Womble”, and her one-month older half-sister Winnie. Babysham has done a lot of showjumping in the past.

Sadly, Baby was put to sleep in 2015. She had been ill for a week and the decision was made before she began to suffer. She was born at the school when I was 9 or 10 and was a month off her 29th birthday. She was much-loved, forward-going, safe pony, and a guaranteed clear rounder at any height. Baby will possibly not be missed in the summer as she wasn’t fun to catch from the field, but the school will not feel the same without our top pony.
